Lesson no 1. Laughter

This is Lincoln, he works in my building.

I dont think I have EVER seen this man without a smile on his face. Isnt that lovely? I thought I'd tell you a bit about laughter and WHY it is so good for you. Then I got an idea for my blog. You know they say that "you learn something new every day" so I thought that I will teach YOU something new everyday. (except for those extremely smart people who already know EVERYTHING *blink blink*)

1. Laughing a hundred times is roughly like being on an exercise bike for 15 minutes because you use the muscles in your stomach (diaphragm and face) and you increase your heart rate.

2. There are two stress hormones in your body that drops when you laugh (Cortisol and epinephrine). These two hormones will normally suppress your body’s immune system, so if you laugh... your immune system gets stronger. Good ey?

3. By laughing you increase a natural substance in your body that can prevent some cancer viruses.

4. Unfortunately there are always two sides of every story. A Danish man named Ole Centzen died after laughing so hard to the movie “A fish called Wanda” because his heart rate races to 250 – 500 beats a minute and he had a heart attack.

5. When you laugh you are using 13 muscles, by frowning you use 47. And you’ll have to smile about 250 000 times to make a wrinkle.
